Description

SP4631 DEDDINGTON HIGH STREET (West side) 8/170 Osborne Cottage

GV II Small house. Mid/late C18, probably with earlier origins. Coursed squared marlstone with wooden lintels; Welsh-slate roof with brick end stack. 2-unit plan. 2 storeys. Symmetrical 2-window front has renewed 12-pane sashes but retains a good C18 fielded 6-panel door and a moulded flat canopy on scrolled brackets. Steep-pitched roof. Interior not inspectd. Possibly originally linked to Osborne House (q.v.) to right, which has similar details. Included for group value.
