Description
Horn Hill Cottage is a house that likely dates from the early to mid-18th century and was altered in the late 19th to early 20th century. It is constructed of coursed squared marlstone, featuring wooden lintels and some ashlar, with a Welsh-slate roof and stone-and-brick end stacks. The building has a two-unit plan that extends to the rear and stands two storeys plus an attic.
The front of the cottage has three windows and includes a large ashlar porch with a moulded parapet and gable finial, situated between enlarged three-light casements, which probably date from around 1900. On the first floor, there are two earlier three-light casements and a small window to the left of centre. The steep-pitched roof has two 20th-century roof dormers, and the left stack features a stone plinth. The left gable has a small window with lattice glazing, and there is a 20th-century extension that returns from the left. The interior has not been inspected. The cottage is included for its group value.
