Description
Lamsdale Cottage is a small house dating from the 18th century, or possibly earlier, with some early 19th-century elements. It is constructed of part-rendered limestone rubble and features a roof made of Welsh slate and old plain tiles, with brick stacks. The building has a two-unit plan consisting of two sections. It is two storeys high on the left side, which is the earlier part with a steep-pitched roof, and includes a 12-pane sash window. The right side has a two-storey bay with a shallower roof, featuring a 16-pane sash window, an entrance at the extreme right, and a low sash window above that is six panes wide. The slated roof has stacks positioned to the left of each section. The rear of the earlier section is made of rubble and has a tiled roof with two gabled dormers. Inside, the earlier bay features a butt-purlin roof with the tiebeams cut through. The cottage is included for its group value.
