Description
This building is a barn and stables located 15 metres north of Whisketts Farmhouse, dating from around 1600, with stables added in the early 19th century. The barn is timber framed, weather boarded, and has been extended with red and blue brick. It features plain tiled roofs, with the barn having a roof that is hipped to the left and half-hipped to the right, along with catslide outshots on either side of the central cart doors. The stable range to the left is one storey high and has two half-doors at the centre. Inside, the barn consists of three bays, with an added bay and outshots from around 1800. The main frame is arch braced and constructed from good quality timber, featuring mid rails and intermediate posts. The roof includes curved queen posts supporting the side purlins and diminished principals.
