Description
This building is a barn and stables located immediately southeast of Bradley Farmhouse, dated 1783. It is constructed of red brick in a firnish bond and Flemish garden wall bond, topped with a clay plain tile roof featuring gabled ends. The barn has a long rectangular plan with six bays, including a five-bay barn at the northeast end that has opposing cart entrances leading to a central threshing bay. The stables occupy the sixth bay at the southwest end and include a loft above.
On the northwest side, there is a large cart entrance to the left of center, featuring a cambered brick arch and frame with plank doors. There are also rows of ventilation and pigeon holes in various patterns, along with small doors for the ground floor and loft on both sides. The southeast side mirrors this design. The gable ends have small loft openings and additional rows of pigeon holes.
Inside, the barn features a king-post roof with angled struts, tenoned purlins, and common rafter couples that do not have a ridgepiece. One of the tie-beams is marked with the date 1783. The stables are equipped with mangers and troughs.
