Description
This is an oasthouse located about 75 metres south-west of Cherry Tree Farmhouse, dating from around 1820 and extended in 1926. It features red brick and timber framing, with weatherboarding, and has been extended with red brick and tile hanging. The roofs are plain tiled. The older rear section is two storeys high, with a hipped roof, an outshot on the left end, and a kiln on the right end. The ground floor is made of brick, while the first floor is weatherboarded. It has a square ground plan with a conical roof rising from the hip, similar to another example at Stone Court Farm in Frittenden. The 1926 extension includes a projecting two-storey stowage area, with loft doors and a pulley in the gable. There is a wooden casement and a boarded door on the left return of the first floor, and carriage doors on the ground floor. The square kiln on the right return has a pyramidal roof and a wooden court.
