Description

FRITTENDEN MILL LANE TQ 8041-8141 (north side) 13/31 Oasthouse about 75 metres south-west of Cherry Tree Farmhouse GV II Oasthouse. Circa 1820 and extended 1926. Red brick and timber framed and weather boarded, extended with red brick and tile hanging. Plain tiled roofs. The older, rear range, of 2 storeys, with hipped roof, outshot at end left and with kiln at end right, the ground floor of brick, weather boarded on 1st floor, square ground plan with conical roof rising out of hip (a similar example survives at Stone Court Farm, Frittenden, item 3/14). 1926 range with project- ing 2 storey stowage, with loft doors and pulley in gable, wooden casement and boarded door to left return 1st floor, carriage doors on ground floor. Square kiln with pyramidal roof and wooden court on right return.
