Description

Old Cottage is a pair of cottages dating from the early 16th century. They are timber-framed and sit on a red brick plinth, with the timber framing exposed, featuring close studding and plaster infilling. The roof is plain tiled, with a gable end facing the street and a small catslide extension to the left. There is a tall brick stack on the left side of the catslide. The building has two storeys and a garret, with a single window in the gable and two windows on the front below. Most windows are casements, except for two glazing bar sashes on the first floor. Each ground floor window has a boarded door to its left. Inside, there is a substantial timber frame with heavily jowled posts.
