Description
Shepherds is a cloth hall that has been converted into a house. It dates back to the 16th century and was refronted in the early 18th century. The building features a timber frame at the rear, while the front block is constructed of red brick set on an ashlar base. It has a moulded wooden cornice supported by end brick pilasters, with a brick parapet that conceals the tiled roof. The building has two storeys and a regular five-window front, with glazing bar sashes that have gauged heads; the first-floor windows are set under cut brick lintels. The central entrance includes a panelled door with a transom light above, framed by a wooden architrave and topped with a flat hood on brackets. At the rear, there are large timber-framed wings from the 16th century, which have been truncated.
