Description
101 and 103 High Street are a pair of cottages dating from the early to mid-19th century, featuring a frontage that likely covers older timber-framing from the 16th century, along with some later alterations. The cottages are constructed of brick with a stucco render and have a plain tile roof with brick dentil eaves. They are arranged in a double-depth plan and stand two storeys tall.
The exterior showcases a two-window range, with each house having plate-glazed horned sash windows that have projecting sills and segmental brick arches. At the center, there are paired six-panel doors beneath a shared hood, leading up two stone steps. The right side of the building is finished in 20th-century brick. Originally, these cottages were part of a terrace that extended to the right.
Inside, the left-hand party wall, rear gable, and roof structure reveal the timber-framing.
