Description
No. 115 Hawthorns is a detached house built in the early 19th century, with later alterations. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and features a Welsh-slate roof behind a rebuilt parapet with stone coping. There is a brick external stack at each end, partly made of yellow brick.
The house is two storeys high and has a three-window range, with lower wings to the right and a gabled rear wing. The main range has 8/8 sash windows with narrow glazing bars, and the windows are adorned with painted channelled voussoirs, keystones, reveals, and sills. The ground floor features a restored central entrance that includes a Classical architrave with a leaded open pediment, fluted pilasters, and consoles. The entrance has panelled reveals, a fanlight with radial glazing bars, and a six-panel door, accessed by three stone steps, one of which is nosed, with a curved wrought-iron handrail. The rear wing has brick dentilled eaves and an end stack. The interior has not been inspected.
