Description
No. 133 High Street is a former inn that has been converted into a house. It dates from the early 19th century and has undergone some alterations. The building is primarily constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and features a Welsh-slate roof with brick dog-tooth eaves. There are brick stacks located at the left end and along the ridge between the right-hand bays.
The exterior is two storeys high and has a four-window range, with the right bay being wider and an L-shaped rear wing. There is a blocked window above the door and another on the first floor to the right. The remaining windows are horned 8/8 sashes, all featuring painted channelled voussoirs, keystones, and sills. The ground floor window on the right has a rebuilt brick surround. The central doorcase is enriched and has a leaded moulded hood, with a 20th-century door and two stone steps leading up to it. To the right bay, there is a carriage entrance with a gauged-brick segmental arch and a two-leaf door, which is panelled above and planked below. The building has a painted brick plinth.
The interior has not been inspected. Historically, it was used as premises for stone masons, with records indicating a new building was constructed in the 1830s.
