Description
HAWKHURST GILL'S GREEN TO 73 SE (north side) 10/307 The Manor House (formerly listed as Limes Grove) and wall 20.6.67 attached - II House. Early C18. Red brick, tile hung return elevations, and plain tiled roof. Two storeys, attic and basement with plinth, plat band and moulded wooden dentil eaves cornice to swept half-hipped roof with moulded and filleted stack cluster to centre and 3 pedimented dormers. Regular fenestration of 7 wooden casements on first floor, and 5 on ground floor with segmental heads, with French window to end left. Segmentally headed basement openings. Central door of 4 raised and fielded panels and top glazed panel in fine doorcase with fluted pilasters to triglyph frieze with cornice. Projecting from end left a red brick wall, some 6 feet high and about 30 yards long. left return tile hung, with truncated offset stack and hipped 2-storey rear wing with weather-boarded lean-to outshot.
