Description

The Manor House is a manor house dating to 1697. It is constructed of brick, which has been colourwashed, and has a steeply pitched slate roof. The building features horizontal bands at the first floor and eaves, two gable stacks, and a single rear wall stack. The Manor House has a roughly L-shaped layout and two storeys, with five bays on the main east front. The central entrance is a panelled door with a decorative glazing bar overlight, flanked by two glazing bar sash windows. Above this, there are five glazing bar sash windows. The south gable has a glazing bar sash window on the left side, with a 20th-century casement window above it. Further above, a datestone is set into the chimney, inscribed "M B E 1697". A large, colourwashed brick lean-to addition with a pantile roof extends to the rear, incorporating a glazing bar sash window to the south. The rear elevation includes a casement window, a glazing bar sash, and a plank door in the rear wing. Above the rear wing on the left is a glazing bar casement window. A brick boundary wall runs along the south front, featuring a stepped plinth and triangular brick coping, and extending for approximately 5 metres.
