Hipped slate roof with pitched roof light and eaves tiles. 3 storeys. Front elevation has end rendered pilasters through 1st and 2nd floors surmounted by stylized brackets with ball finials. Wide cornice and fascia bands. Continuous 6 light window divided by pilasters with flat arches between. The interior contains a central galleried atrium supported on twisted cast iron columns on the ground floor and plain cylindrical columns on the 1st floor. Wooden 2 tiered balustrading to open well and boarded panelling. Simple roof of queen post type construction. Included for technological innovation as an early example of structural ironwork in a shop. The rear part of no 18 is not of special interest.
