Description

GOUDHURST BEDGEBURY TQ 73 NW 5/74 Oasthouse about 50 metres west of Forge Farmhouse GV II Oasthouse. Early C19 incorporating earlier structure. Timber framed and clad with corrugated iron, with red brick kiln, with plain tiled roof to kiln and wooden cowl. Two storey stowage, with extension or aisle to rear, with 2 wooden casements on each. First floor elevations with loft door to south, and boarded door to east with raking hood. Carriage doors to rear elevation. Square plan kiln to west, with raking lucarn to south and gabled lucarn to north and blocked door openings at ground floor on each face, with boarded door to west. The ground floor brickwork is, in some sections, of greater age than the upper sections. Cowl survives without winder.
