Description
Little Pattenden is a house dating from the 16th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building features a timber frame with exposed plaster infill, and it has been extended with red brick, weather-boarding, and render. The roofs are plain tiled. The structure consists of two uneven blocks, each with one framed bay, which may be remnants of a larger framed building. It is two storeys high with a garret, set on a plinth. The central projecting block has a jettied section with a gabled roof and a stack at the right end. The roof steps down to the left, leading to a recessed wing with a rear stack. There is an outshut recessed at the right end. A garret window is located in the central gable, while each section has one leaded wooden casement on each floor. A boarded door is situated to the left within a boarded porch. There is also an outshot at the left end. The jettied wing resembles one end of a Wealden house, suggesting that it may have originally extended further to the right (south).
