Description

St Michael's House is a house built around 1860 in a gabled neo-Elizabethan style. It features coursed rubble with ashlar mouldings and a tiled roof that has ridge stacks towards the rear. The south front is symmetrical, with two returned gables that appear to have been intended to have barge boards, which were never added. There is a gabled semi-dormer in the central recess, with an 8-light transom and mullion window above a 10-light transom and mullion window on the ground floor. The first floor of the wings has 6-light sash windows, with canted bays below. Large buttresses are present in the recess of the wings, with the left-hand wing featuring double doors with overlights.

On the east front, there is a chimney breast to the left with a neo-Elizabethan stack and three small gables to the right. An off-centre gabled porch is located to the left, adorned with decorative barge boards and a moulded three-centred arch at the entrance. The entrance has a panelled arched door, with three tall lights above three linear fold panels below. To the right of the front, there are mullioned double sash windows, along with an 8-light casement on the ground floor.

The west front includes a canted bay with a pointed arched door to the left and a chimney breast to the right, topped by three gables. There are also two gabled one-storey extensions in the central recess to the north.
