Description

The main gates and flanking walls to Roydon Hall are mid-19th century structures. They feature a coursed rubble stone wall with a pitched parapet that curves from the road to the gates. There are four piers: the two inner piers are topped by four pointed gablets arranged diagonally around circular posts, while the outer piers are topped by shallow octagonal cones. The gates include two side gates and double wooden central gates that have decorative hinges. Below the gates are cross ribs, with arched openings above that feature curling ironwork infill. These gates and walls are included for their group value.
