Description

The gates and gatepiers to the drive of Royds Hall School date from the mid-19th century. They are constructed from ashlar stone and feature rusticated piers with foliage carvings in roundels and beneath the cornice. The gatepiers have buttresses on the sides and are topped with elaborate cast iron torcherie supported by grotesque legs. Flanking the entrance are double quadrant walls that include fielded panels.
