Description

St Michael’s House is an early 18th-century building in Ripon. It is rendered and has a slate roof with coped gables on moulded kneelers. The building is two storeys and has attics, with four bays facing the garden. These bays contain sash windows with glazing bars. Flat-topped attic dormers are also visible. The street front has a central bay that projects slightly, featuring cased flush-framed sashes with glazing bars. A door with six panels, four of which are fielded, is set within panelled reveals with reeded pilasters.

Inside, a contemporary staircase has a distinctive design with very bulbous, vase-shaped balusters that are similar to the staircase found in No. 26, St Agnes House on High Saint Agnesgate.
