Description

The war memorial in Ditton was designed by Gilbert Scott in 1920. It stands approximately 18 feet tall and features an octagonal ashlar crucifix set within a four-centred arch made of ashlar, which is about four feet high and 30 feet wide. The names of those who fell are inscribed on stone tablets located beneath the crucifix, along with the inscription "THEIR NAME LIVETH FOR EVERMORE." A lower panel also commemorates those who died in the Second World War.
