Description

This is an obelisk located 20 yards east of Addington Church, dating from the late 18th century. Made of stone, it stands 20 feet high on a pedestal with a plinth. The obelisk is inscribed with the dedication 'To William Locker, Governor of Greenwich Hospital'. His date of birth is noted as 1731, but the date of death is illegible.
