Description

This is a group of early 19th century shops, originally constructed as maltings and later converted for commercial and residential use. The building is stuccoed, with the ground floor set back and supported by six Corinthian columns. The roof is tiled, hipped, and features two small conical oast structures. The first floor has three double unloading doors. The shops have plain 19th century fronts, characterized by vertical planking in the stall risers and half-glazed doors topped with fanlights. A curved corner is marked by a curbing stone. A building connected to the rear of the property, located at 46 King Street, shares a flying freehold with this building.
