Description

No. 72 High Street is a shop that represents the surviving half of an 18th-century building, which was altered in the 19th century. The exterior is stuccoed and features a tiled roof that is half-hipped at one end, along with a brick chimneystack. The right side elevation is tile hung and decorated with bands of fishscale tiles. The building has three storeys and attics, with two windows. It is topped with a modillion eaves cornice and has a stringcourse. The windows maintain 18th-century moulded archtiraves, but they are mid-19th century sashes that do not have glazing bars, although they do feature horns.
