Description
71 and 73 High Street is a late medieval timber-framed building that was altered in the mid 19th century. The front features painted brick in Flemish bond and has an old tiled roof, while the rear has a roughcast gable and a modern tiled roof. The building is three stories tall with two windows. On the second floor, there are two casement windows and one sliding window. The first floor has two mid 19th-century canted bay windows. The ground floor includes a 19th-century shopfront with a deep fascia and end incised pilasters. Inside, there are very thick beams with linear chamfers, an 18th-century winder staircase, and two-panelled doors. Additionally, there are remains of an ogee arched doorcase.
