Description
Nos 2-4 on Rochester Road is a hall-house that has been converted into a pair of cottages. It dates from around 1450 and features 18th-century cladding. The ground floor is made of red and blue brick, while the first floor is weatherboarded and jetties out at the right end, supported by joists and brackets. The roof is hipped, covered with concrete tiles, and has projecting rafters at the eaves, along with gablets. There is a brick stack located off-ridge to the rear on the left and an end stack on the right. The building has two storeys with an irregular arrangement of windows: two casement windows on the first floor and one on the ground floor to the right. There are two doors located to the left and right of the centre; the door on the right is boarded (No 22), while the door on the left is half-glazed (No 4). A lean-to extension is present at the right side of the front.
