Description

This is a house, now divided, dating from the 16th century with a significant addition from the mid-18th century. The front section is constructed of dark grey brick laid on a red brick plinth and features boxed eaves and a plain tiled roof with gable parapets, kneelers and end stacks. The front has three storeys and a regular five-bay facade with glazing bar sashes and open boxes over the windows. A central entrance is emphasised by a pilastered surround with an entablature and hood, leading to a boarded door. A 16th-century wing sits to the rear, originally the farmhouse, and is timber-framed with a central valley to its hipped roof. Three dormers are present, including one on the roof of the 18th-century block, situated in the valley between the ridges of the 16th-century wing roof.
