Description

This barn, located about 30 metres south-west of Shuart Farm Cottage, dates back to the 16th century. It is constructed with a timber frame and is weather boarded, topped with a corrugated iron roof. The roof is hipped, featuring low side walls and a raking mid-stray. Inside, the barn consists of four bays with aisles and terminal outshots. It has passing shores to the arcade posts and jowled wall posts. The roof includes knee braced collar ties and a clasped purlin structure with wind braces. The timbers exhibit good scantling and craftsmanship.
