Description

This barn, dating from the 16th century, is located about 30 metres north-west of Newhouse Farmhouse. It features a timber frame constructed on a base of flint and red brick, and is weatherboarded with a corrugated iron roof. The barn has a hipped roof with a raking mid-stray to the left and five boarded doors across the front. Inside, there are four bays with aisles and terminal outshots. The arcade posts have passing shores that are now truncated. The roof structure includes queen struts with wind bracing and braced intermediate trusses in each bay. Additionally, there is a later single-storey weatherboarded range to the left that connects this barn to another barn nearby.
