Description

Newhouse Farm Cottage is a house dating from the early 17th century. It features a timber frame with exposed close studding and plaster infill, topped with a plain tiled roof. The building has two storeys and a garret, with a continuous jetty supported by dragon posts on the right front. There are two large overhanging gables with plain bargeboards, and the roof is half-hipped to the left, with a clustered stack positioned at the center. On the first floor, there are two oriels with mullioned sidelights and small central wooden casements, while the ground floor has two restored three-light mullioned and transomed oriels, also with mullioned sidelights. The door, located off-centre to the right, consists of six ribbed panels within a moulded surround. At the rear, there is a hipped wing made of brick and tile hanging, which dates from the 19th or 20th century.
