Description

This barn, located about 20 metres north-east of Shingleton Farmhouse, dates back to the 16th century. It features a timber frame clad with red brick in Header Bond and has a corrugated iron roof. The structure includes a plinth and ventilation slits, along with a half-hipped roof that has two raking mid-streys. Inside, the barn consists of seven bays with aisles and terminal outshots. The arcade posts are supported by passing shores and have eccentric bracing. The roof is constructed with clasped purlins and wind braces.
