Description
Shingleton Farmhouse is a house dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of red brick and has a plain tile roof. The building is two storeys tall and sits on a plinth with a plat band. It features a hipped roof with stacks located to the centre left and the end right. The windows are arranged irregularly, with five metal casements on the first floor and two blocked window spaces. On the ground floor, there is one blocked window space and four segmental headed metal casements. To the right, there is a half-glazed door with a segmental head. This site has historical significance as a manorial site, and according to Hasted, the house was "built within memory." There are earthwork remains of an old manor house and chapel located in the woods to the northwest of the house.
