Description
Streete House is a house dating from the early 17th century, constructed of red brick with a plain tiled roof. It stands two storeys high on a plinth and features a moulded and boxed eaves cornice, with kneelered gables and a stack located at the rear right. The first floor has five segmental headed glazing bar sash windows, while the ground floor includes two canted bay windows that block two segmental headed window openings. The central entrance door has six panels, with the top four being glazed, and is topped by a rectangular fanlight and a flat hood supported by metal brackets. To the right, there is a single storey extension with one sash window, and there are 19th-century wings at the rear. Inside, the house has moulded ceiling joists and a panelled room featuring a filleted frieze on fluted pilasters around the door, with moulded muntins. The panelled overmantel includes two enriched semi-circular arches on fluted pilasters, a modillion cornice, a fluted frieze, and lozenges in the panels, along with a contemporary fireback dated 1635.
