Description

The property is a house, dating from the 17th century but largely rebuilt in 1796. It comprises a brown brick and slate-roofed front range, and a red brick, flint and rubble rear range covered by a plain tiled roof. The house is two storeys high, with a hipped roof and a stack to the rear right. The front features two glazing bar sashes on the first floor, including a central roundel bearing the inscription "This House belonging to the Free School was built by subscription, 1796”. On the ground floor, there are two sashes, with gauged heads; the one to the left is within a blocked doorway. Access is gained through a half-glazed door on the left return. The building was originally constructed as the school headmaster’s house.
