Description
North Grange and The Grange are a pair of houses, originally a single house, dating to the early 18th century and altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. The houses are constructed of brown brick with red brick dressings, and have a plain tiled roof. The building is two storeys and an attic, standing on a plinth and featuring a moulded eaves cornice with paired modillions to a hipped roof. The roof has two raking dormers and stacks positioned to the left and right. The windows are regularly spaced, featuring 5 glazing bar sashes on the first floor and 4 on the ground floor, each with a flying cornice. A central half-glazed door is topped with a segmental fanlight and a gauged surround; a 20th-century outshot to the left contains a half-glazed door sheltered by a flat hood. On the right return, a plat band is interrupted by two 19th-century canted bays connected by a pentice.
