Description
Rose Cottages is a pair of cottages dated 1721, located in St Nicholas at Wade. The cottages are constructed of red brick, with an extension made of yellow stock brick, and feature a plain tiled roof. The entrance front, which was originally the rear elevation, has a catslide outshot that extends to the ground floor on the left side. The right side consists of two storeys with kneelered gables. There are stacks positioned at the end right and to the left in front of the ridge line. The windows are arranged irregularly, featuring wooden casements, and there are boarded doors located at the centre left and end right. A 19th-century extension is present at the end left. The rear elevation has two storeys with one sash window and two wooden casements on each floor. A plaque inscribed "J.L. 1721" is located at the centre right on the first floor.
