Description

Nos. 10 and 11 are a pair of terrace houses, now functioning as a hotel, built between 1798 and 1801. They are constructed of white stock brick, partially rendered, and feature a concrete pantiled roof. The buildings rise four storeys with a basement, showcasing a rusticated ground floor and a parapet at the roof with a stack on the left side.

Each house has two sash windows with painted gauged heads on the second and third floors, and on the first floor, there are two tripartite French doors with top lights. No. 11 has a tented verandah on the left, while No. 10 features a raking balcony on the right, both supported by pierced wrought iron piers. The balcony has simple rails on the right and iron balusters on the left.

No. 10 has a 20th-century metal casement window, along with a glazed door to the right that is topped by a semi-circular fanlight with a reeded and moulded surround. It also has two sash windows and a fixed half-glazed door at No. 4, both with moulded and reeded surrounds, and accessed by flights of five steps. The basement of No. 10 has a glazing bar sash and a boarded outer door, while No. 11 has a half-glazed door leading to its basement. The properties are adorned with spear-head railings topped with urn finials. Unlike the other 16 houses in the Crescent, which were built separately, Nos. 10 and 11 were constructed as a single build.
