Description
No. 5 is a terrace house located on The Paragon in Ramsgate, dating from around 1816. It is constructed of painted brick and features a slate roof. The building has four storeys and a basement, topped with a parapet and a stack on the left side.
On the second and third floors, there are two late 20th-century UPVC casement windows with gauged heads. The first floor has two French doors leading to a glazed verandah, which is supported by pierced piers and ornate scrolled brackets on the roof. The verandah has simple double rails on the left and a scrolled balustrade on the right.
The basement and ground floor feature a bow window with two sash windows, and to the right, there is an original panelled door with an oval top panel and a lower panel decorated with a Greek key ornament. Above the door, there is a semi-circular fanlight set in a moulded and keyed surround, leading up to a flight of six steps. The basement has a sash window and a wooden casement, along with a panelled door. The property is finished with simple rails topped with urn finials.
