Description
No. 81 Abbey Street is a 15th-century timber-framed cottage that was part of the Abbey buildings. The first floor juts out on the west and north sides, supported by moulded bressummers and brackets attached to the corner post. There is also a gable on the north side that overhangs in a similar manner. The north and west fronts are studded, and the roof is tiled. The cottage features sash windows with intact glazing bars, along with some original window openings that have small panels of lead glazing. It has two storeys and one window. The garden behind No. 80 is enclosed by a wall that forms a group with Nos. 80 and 81.
