Description

Hugh Place 1 is a 16th-century timber-framed cottage that has been restored. The building is two storeys high and features two windows. The first floor overhangs, supported by the protruding ends of the floor joists. The ground floor is finished with stucco, while the first floor has a combination of weather boarding, timbering, and cement. The windows on the cottage are modern. This property, along with Nos 1 to 7 consecutively, is part of a group that includes the east front of No 15 and the west front of No 14 Market Place.
