Description
No. 14 The Market Place is an 18th-century building that stands three storeys tall with an attic, featuring two windows and one dormer. The structure is made of red brick and has a stringcourse above the first floor, along with a cornice and parapet above the second floor. The roof is tiled, and the glazing bars are intact on the first floor only. The early 19th-century shop front is flanked by narrow reeded pilasters and includes a plate glass window, with a wide modern fascia that possibly retains the original cornice below. This building is part of a group of listed buildings in the Market Place, and it also forms a group with Nos. 14 to 16 and Nos. 1 and 2, as well as 4 to 12 on West Street.
