Description

Forge Cottage is a 16th-century timber-framed building, originally two cottages. The front is plastered, and part of the ground floor was rebuilt in brick and painted, though the timbering is exposed on the north side, displaying close-studding and plastered infilling. The first floor oversails on the protruding ends of the floor joists. It has a steeply-pitched hipped tile roof. The windows are casement type. The cottage is two storeys high and has five windows.
