Description
Mill House, also known as No 85, and The Old Mill, or No 87, are located on the east side of High Street in Edenbridge. Mill House is an early 19th-century, two-storey house with an attic, built at right angles to the mill. It features a tiled roof with a gabled dormer and has decorative tile and brick faced walls. The first floor has early 19th-century sash windows with glazing bars set in near-flush moulded frames, while the ground floor includes a late 19th-century three-light sash window. There is a door beneath a pent trellis porch at the left end of the mill building.
The Old Mill, dating from the 18th century, is a water mill equipped with an undershot wheel and a stream that runs underneath the road. It has a rounded tiled gambrel roof that is half-hipped on the right side. The mill is weatherboarded and features various casement windows, along with a loading bay that projects from the upper floor.
