Description
The King and Queen Public House is a 16th century timber-framed building with a later front, located on the east side of High Street in Edenbridge. It has two storeys and features four windows. The high-pitched tiled roof has a ridge stack that has been partly rebuilt. The first floor is tile hung at the ends and pebble-dashed in the center, revealing parts of two old timber braces. The ground floor is constructed of brick with a rendered plinth. It has 18th century sash windows, which have had their bars removed, set in exposed moulded frames. On the ground floor to the left, there is a modern door that is top glazed, accompanied by a side light. Another top glazed door, with flanking windows, is located in the second bay from the right. The roof is smoke blackened, although it is of the side-purlin type. The King and Queen Public House, along with Nos 75 to 79 (odd), forms a group.
