Description
Mill House Restaurant, also known as The Mill and House, is an 18th-century traditional water mill that stands two storeys high with an attic. It is attached to a former millhouse on the south side, which also has two storeys. The house features three windows and has a red tile roof that is half-hipped at the southern end and gabled at the two-storey rear extensions. The exterior is made of painted brickwork, with a band at the first floor and cambered openings on the ground floor. The windows are casements.
The attached mill has six bays and includes five dormers along with an attic gantry. There are three small two-light casements in the upper hall and one on the ground floor; the rest are modern large casements. Notably, there is a full-height projecting solid bay that features a large central mullion and transom window, as well as a tall bay with mullion and transom lights. The roofing is also red tile and half-hipped, with a lead flat roof over the solid bay. The building has modern rear extensions.
