Description
Street Farmhouse is a building dating from the 16th century, with early 19th-century alterations. Originally a timber-framed open hall with a crown post, it has been later clad in brick on three sides. The front, which faces west, is two storeys high and features three windows. It has a red tile roof with hipped ends and brick dentil eaves. The red brickwork is laid in Flemish bond and includes cambered openings on the ground floor. The windows are modern casements. The doorcase is notable for its canopy supported by brackets and pilasters, and it features a six-panelled door. The north end of the building retains an exposed frame that is brick-filled, indicating that the front was once jettied before the brick refronting. Inside, the farmhouse has linen-fold panelling.
