Description

Riverside House is a late 18th-century building, dated 1774, located on the north side of Church Street, Shoreham. It is a two-storey, five-bay structure. The roof is tiled and hipped, featuring a modillioned eaves cornice. The facade is constructed of red brick with blue brick headers. Restored sash windows with glazing bars are set within gauged flat red brick arches. A sun assurance sign is present in the blank central panel of the first floor. The centrally located front door is topped with a fanlight and flanked by rounded pilasters with reed-moulded capitals, which support an open pediment with a dentilled soffit. Two moulded stone steps lead to the front door. Riverside House forms a group with Waterfall Cottage, Ivy Cottage, Rising Sun and Bridge Cottage.
