Description

Flint Cottage is an ornamental building from the late 18th century or early 19th century, standing two storeys tall. Its exterior features flint rubble set within red brick panels, accented by red brick dressings around the windows and quoins. The building has corbelled brick eaves and a tiled hip roof. Above the doorway, there is an inserted moulded stone entablature and a brick panel that holds an ornamental stone bust, with another recessed panel to the left. The cottage includes various 18th and 19th century square-paned casements and a plain boarded door at the centre, which has an 18th century stone threshold. This distinctive elevation, resembling that of Vicarage Cottage on Church Street, likely conceals an earlier framed structure.
