Description

The bridge over the River Darent, located on the north side of Church Street in Shoreham, features three low brick arches supported by stone buttressing. It has a solid balustrade made of red brick and flint rubble. An old ford remains beside the bridge. The current structure likely dates from the 19th century, although historical records suggest there was a bridge at this location in the late 18th century, with origins that may date back to medieval times.
