Description

The bridge over the River Teise, built in the early 19th century, is constructed from red brick and sandstone. It features a single elliptical brick arch made up of three brick courses spanning the river. The upper side walls are reinforced with three iron anchor ties, while the footings and the springing of the arch are made of sandstone. The parapet walls rise approximately three feet above the road level and are topped with stone coping, featuring splayed end sections. Although only a portion of the bridge is located in the Tunbridge Wells District of Kent, the majority lies within the Wealden District of East Sussex, specifically in the parish of Frant.
